The Language Center at the University of Zakho started the fourth round (R4) of English Language Learning Course.

Under the supervision of Professor Dr. Yaseen T. Mustafa, Vice President of the University of Zakho for Scientific and Postgraduate Affairs on November 9th, 2021 the 4th round of English Language Learning Course started.

This English language learning course is conducted following the Ministerial decree No. 40 issued on January 9th, 2020. The primary purpose of this language course is to fulfill the English language requirements for postgraduate studies and academic title purposes.

It is worth mentioning that, including the final exam hours, this course is a 100-hour intensive course conducted in six weeks to improve the academic English of our participants and prepare them well to pursue their postgraduate studies and fulfill their academic requirements.

The course has four levels namely: Beginner, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, and Intermediate levels. Participants who are willing to pursue their Master's Degree and/or apply for their Academic Title are entitled to successfully finish the (pre-intermediate) level. Moreover, Master's Degree holders in Humanities studies who are willing to pursue their PhD programs are also required to successfully finish (pre-intermediate) level to be issued a language certificate. Master's Degree holders in Science who are willing to pursue their PhD programs are required to successfully finish (intermediate) level to be issued a language certificate which fulfills their academic and postgraduate needs.
